Strawberry Panic – 1

If I had to give only one reason why Strawberry Panic is awsome, it would be Tamao-chan.

It goes like this: Aoi Nagisa, our heroine, wanders to the top of Asraea Hill to attend her fist day of classes at St. Miatre Academy. Of course, since she doesn't know where she's going and because she can't keep her eyes off of the cute uniforms that the students from the three schools on top of the hill are wearing, she gets lost. Eventually she is found by a beutiful girl with silver hair that, for some reason, kisses Nagisa on the head, which imediatly makes Nagisa faint. She wakes up in the infirmary, where a girl is sitting and watching her sleep. The girl, who is mesmirized by the cute face Nagisa makes when she is sleeping, introduces herself as Suzumi Tamao, and says that they are in the same grade, class, and, in fact, roomies. w00t.

Tomao then volenteers to take Nagisa on a tour of the school. However, she mentions something else that they needed to do first…then she locks the door. SHE. LOCKS. THE. DOOR. Then she pulls out…

…mesuring tape, to take Nagisa's mesurements for her uniform. Why would she need to lock the door though? When the girls go to get Nagisa's uniform, it turns out that they use generic size numbers. Tomao then reveals why she did it: she collects the personal biological data of every girl she meets, and keeps it as her prized posession.

Never before has a single character indroduced in the first episode make me NEED to see the rest of a series. Tomao=win. As to the rest? Animation is good, music fits, OP is great, but the ED is a little weird because they use real people in the video. Odd. Anyway, I can't wait till next week so I can see all of the other characters, as there seem to be many of them. Till next week, here's some more Tomao goodness:
